Apple Car Play without a cable

Featured Replies

Hello fellow Briskodians, My 2017 Sportline has wireless phone charging but not wireless Apple Car Play. I recall reading an article in the forum about this being retrofitted but cannot find it. Any help is much appreciated.

There are plenty of 3rd party adaptors for wireless CarPlay.

They plug into the existing USB socket and allow your phone to connect wireless. I haven't got any 1st hand experience I'm afraid so I can't suggest a particular device.

Couple of random google 'best of' search resutls:

The MIB2 or MIB2.5 units, like that in ur car, can't do wireless CarPlay or Android Auto.  It doesn't have the hardware.

As mentioned above - plenty of dongles u can connect to ur headunit to get the wireless functionality.

I'm using a AAWireless device to get wireless android auto in my Superb MY17.

Hi,

And how is the speed of the CarPlay with that adaptor ? did you use it for long driving ? I saw that AAWireless with 90 euro in Romania.

Link here.

The small square ones fit in the space on top of the 12v socket nicely. Get your low profile USB-A to USB-C cables on AliExpress and use some velcro tape etc to affix it. The cover slides closed on top of the unit.

Mines doesn't so going to look for the number for it

My wireless charger works fine. I need to use a slim case in my iPhone 13 for it to fit properly but it’s good. Not sure of the part number but this might be it

Yup, my phone wireless charger still works.  I use it with my Pixel 5 for road trips less than an hr long.

Perfect combo with the AAWireless.

No longer available! Is it fairly easy to install or do I need rip half of the trim to fit it? There quite a few wireless module on ebay.

Honestly I have no idea. If i was you I would find a workshop manual, remove yours, find OEM part number and try and source a direct replacement. Not many people will have direct experience with this but you may find some retrofit threads in here.
