Auto start / stop inversion!

Featured Replies

Any thought please!

Now new battery has led to auto start / stop working as designed, so now looking to "invert" the start stop so function "off" on start but can be turned on by operating button.

To clarify, I don't want to permanently disable the function, just tired of residential estate driving where stops at all junctions whilst momentarily stationary!

OBD11 was a gem on son's A6, the facility exists to invert the switch within the menu's, works a treat.

Yet on the Superb facility not offered!

Can this be done outside of the OBD11 menu's?

Is there a facility to extend the time on stationary before auto stop cuts in?

Switch inversion cables on Ebay, are these any good? For £22 seems good but from China (had previous issues!) and would value any experience of the cable / supplier.

TIA.

**** Snow.

Get urself a Start-Stop Memory module - does exactly wat ur after.

A few of us have done it, including myself.

Highly recommended.

Much better option than permanently disabling the Start-Stop function entirely using OBDEleven or VCDS.

It’s easy to get in the habit of turning off start/ stop by pressing the button when starting the car, and if you do want it to work if held up at temporary traffic etc it’s just a matter of pushing the button as required.

My habit is starting the car and literally saying “turn that @“£&@“ off”

So OP if you can get into a habit of turning it off it’s much cheaper and easier

I had kept in mind that memory module only keeps the S&S state at engine shut down for the next start.

Is there really another module configuration that simply inverts the default configuration   (S&S off at every engine start. Comes on only when button is pressed)?

It should do that already.

I'm pretty sure u've setup ur Start-Stop Memory module incorrectly.  They have 3 or so settings/modes, which dictate their "memory" function.

Mine is setup so it retains the last state, no matter engine being turned on/off.

Actually, I haven't. Since... I don't have any memory module installed... 😁

I was just trying to remind what I had read here and there... ;)

Thanks for clarifying, this may be very useful for other Mk3 owners... ;)
