I really don't see an issue. I've brought my car from Motorpoint saving
As a motor dealer we exist only by making an honest profit...........so customers like yourselves can come to nice premises' date=' drink our coffee, test drive our cars, have a friendly salesman attend to you and answer any questions and advise you in your choice of car. We stock our showrooms and compounds with hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of cars which we have to pay for and incur interest monthly if they don't sell quickly.

While I can understand why you all want a cheap car - I would also, but we as dealers all work from exactly the same [u']fixed[/u] profit margin except for a small extra bonus for reaching our designated targets. So some dealers will, if they have to, blow away a car if they are close to target hence you get a better deal. As you've seen - the likes of .............(can't mention names) but the ones who give the biggest discounts too often don't stay around for the long term as they can't operate making minimal profits for ever!

Texasjohn's mention that his dad came to us for a drive then bought elsewhere - is ok no problem, that happens, at least we had the opportunity to sell but as we were on target didn't feel we should sell a car for no profit - why should we? I'm sure there are plenty of tradesmen or people in other businesses reading this who wouldn't do their business for virtually no profit - be honest!

As for warranty - yes we will honour any warranty work wherever you buy, but I'm afraid if it comes to courtesy cars/emergency loan cars and going that extra mile - our customers will always come first in the queue if it comes to an urgent job to get them back on the road. That is totally at my discretion - not Skoda!(before anyone decides to complain)

My Skoda, soon to be delivered is via an eco car scheme, but it will be registered to me from day one.

For the reasons stated above I asked my local dealership if they could supply the car rather than it be supplied from a dealer in or around London, whoever the lease company use, the lease company are not overly happy, but tough, it's my car.

Fortunately it has been possible and I now have a good relationship with my soon to be dealer and I am sure I will receive top notch service from them for putting the business their way.

Car Supermarkets are all well and good in their place, at the end of the day money can only be saved, usually by cutting corners somewere, unfortunately the customer gets the dirty end of the stick when it goes boobs up.

Corner? What is being cut here is Malta's exorbitant vehicle reg tax (65% of the value of the vRS). To make cars affordable the manufacturers cut there selling price to the bone,

I wouldnt let this put anyone off importing a car or via Motorpoint! i saved over £4000 on my vRS, and got a few extras.

That's no big deal, we were selling them for £11750 towards the end of the run as well .

I have on order a L&K 1.6 fsiTiptronic Estate, replacing my M2 octy Elegance1.9 TDI DSG Hatch I ordered it from my local Skoda dealer here in Lincoln Horton and Son. Although I didnt get the part Exchange I wanted They were very helpful in reasoning with me that although I only do approx 6500 miles per year and as I change my car every 2 years. I would save money in the long run on a 1.6 FSI rather than a1.9 Tdi.I only keep to the Octy as I have to transport my disabled daughter arround and I need the bigger car to do this. So I have no doubts in my mind that dealing with the Skoda dealer although paying a bit more you get all the help you need, and inthe long run good relationship with them.

By the way anyone know of a company that can supply and fit a swivel front seat for my daughter in the Lincoln area?
