vRS questions...

Featured Replies

Hi guys and gals,

I am looking at getting a new / second hand vRS, but I've got a few questions.

Did / does the car come with leather seats as an option? Anyone got any pics?

What is the offset and PCD of the wheels? As I want to try and fit my BBS CH wheels (100 * 5 PCD / ET 30)

What essential mods would you recommend for the car? I've been reading about the Jabba ARB, what about Eibach springs, Chip etc...

What sort of MPG are the chipped guys getting?

Are they all 6 speed?

Cheers Mark

  • Leather seats are now an option (although search for The Seat Surgeons who are auto leather specialists.) Pics Here
  • PCD is 5x100 ET I think it 37 or 38.
  • Essential mods would be Eibach suspension, Jabba Rear ARB, 312mm Brakes, Remap & Green Cotton Filter/PD160 Air Intake.
  • Remapped about 45mpg average.
  • They are all 6 speed.

Leather has been a dealer fit option for just a few months. It isn't cheap, but many people have been to the Seat Surgeons and had a full leather retrim for

Thanks for the welcome guys  You seem like a friendly bunch

Went looking at a couple at Clock Garage in Spondon earlier. The guy that does the test drives was out though :( Will be going back A.S.A.P for a test drive though ;)

The will physically fit' date=' depending on the width. The offset sounds quite a bit out to me (std offset is ET37 I think)

The ARB is a must in my opinion, the single best mod you can do. A remap will give approx +40bhp and +40lbft torque - a great mod. Do a search and find a whole wealth of info.

Will stick out past the arches slighty then ;)

So is that just the rear ARB or both?

Was thinking about the interior options earlier, and I had considered getting a pair of Recaro Speeds and having the rears re-trimmed to match, but the re-trim option looks good.

You say that like it's a good thing...

Running the wrong offset wheels can upset the suspension geometry and cause wheel bearings to fail early.

Hello & Welcome :D:

It's illegal and an MOT fail so be careful :thumbdwn:

And it looks gay!

7x17" et 35 , et 30 should go easily even with 7,5" rims...

edit... bbs ch with et 30 is made only 8,5" wide, then it`s going to be too wide

Will stick out past the arches slighty then ;)

LOL! Living in a predominantly Hispanic area I am imagining a low rider style Fabia!

Just kidding! Welcome to Briskoda!

Doh I really wanted to keep the BBS's and fit them to my new motor. I know it puts strain on the other components and will effect the suspension, but on my current car they only stick out about 2mm and looks good IMO. (Awaits the back lash LOL)

Hello Mark, nice to see you found your way over here :)

Hi mate,

I thought I'd seen the Primera for sale on Fabia-vrs.com.

Seem to be following each other around LOL

Also running ET30 you will foul the archs for sure under heavy loadings. imho the most you can run is a ET35 with a 205 tyre but thats a tight fit, no more than a few mm's of clearance at the front and sweet fa at the back. When I ran ET38 with a 205 tyre I found I could scrape the rear wheel arches.... At present on one car i have ET43 with 185 tyres and 18mm spacer (rear only) and on the other ET 38 with a 195 tyre.

:D :D :D Hi

I don't drive "slowly" but am averaging over 55 mpg. Yes, I got my leather seats as an option, but less than
