Brake sensor?

Featured Replies

Decided to do my front brakes today.

Bought the pads, slipped off wheel one, old pads out, new pads in, next wheel, pads out, new pa…. Wtf?!?!

New pad has a sensor cable! Double check old pads, nope! No sensor. Get head into wheel well, no sensor plug.

Furrrrrrrrk!
Old pads in. Wheel on.

Back to first wheel, off, head in wheel well. No sensor.

On phone to parts. What have you given me? “All our pads for your vehicle have sensor cables.”

On phone to Skoda parts. “Yes, your car has brake sensors”

”No it effn doesn’t, do you have pads without a sensor?”

”No, all our pads have sensors, you must have after market pads”

Have I missed something somewhere?

Skoda had serviced the car, up and until it’s last service.
I’ve just clipped off the sensor wire 🤷🏼‍♂️

The brake sensor is on the inner pad on passenger side only.

If you follow the Abs cable by the strut it splits to pad and abs sensor ( if pad warning fitted)

If not you could just cut the cable off the pad if they are correct.

Could be possible someone as joined the cable if broken the connector. That would trick the warning light.

Pic shows where the cable splits in to two. The part with insulation tape on goes to abs sensor.

( new cable ran in, got a break in harness causing abs fault)

Mine runs cleanly into the ABS plug on both sides.

Only one cable feeding into the wheel well.
