spyware - help

Featured Replies

I'm more thinking of things that are hidden in an executable. I could write a programme that scans for spyware removes competitors stuff and records everything you type and mail it to me. Any programmer can do this and if you install it you are bypassing all the security in the world.

Think you mean 1GB RAM ;)

Most peoples PC's will be a much lower spec than that and also being asked everytime you do something will for most people (myself included) get v annoying eventually.

Personally I run hardware SPI firewall and then added a linux box to save all the logs to. I use FF rather than IE on windows and keep my system up to date. I use linux windows and MAc behind this setup. I have a few bits running but not anything like you.

If anything ever got hacked or spywared then I would completely format and reinstall no question asked. No measures not even all those you have can 100% protect you from spyware. I can bet you there are ways in windows to do things without letting anyone/thing know just because there are bugs.

More is not always better esp if one program interferes with another.
