Scratches on bonnet

Featured Replies

My car has gained 6 Mark's on my bonnet. I have smart claim which I purchased with my brand new car.

I was given the details from skoda to contact smart claim. When ringing smart claim I was given a list of what they do not cover. The Mark's can only be so big 5cm I thing and area no bigger then 30cm.

I've put my claim in. But person on phone did not sound hopeful.

Hate it when your covered but the company cant wait to dismiss your claim this was before i sent in my pictures. Not impressed.

Welcome.

That looks pretty like it will be a claim that should be honoured.

Did you get your copy of terms and Conditions & exclusions when you purchased the cover, and still have that?

You have the gist of it anyway,

Would that be 30cm squared (sorry cannot do the uppercase numbers) as an area should be expressed?

In which case your damage covers more than 30 cm squared.

Are some of those rust damage?

I maybe wrongly thought that was mud splashes or bird poo not cleaned off.   (use a wet tea bag to soften bird crap.)

No scratch is as long as 12", but do they want to look at it as where the first short scratch starts and the last one ends.

That is several short scratches though.

Then for Scuffs or dents, that is a diameter slightly more then a 12" circle.

But it is not scuffed or dented.

*Not light scratches that are buffing out though, that requires spraying colour, so a SMART painter doing a smart job. *

If they won't honor it and you genuinely think they are being devious about it then you can take them to the ombudsman. But you need to complete their own complaints/appeals process first, or at least attempt the process.

I love how it says "stress free" when any insurance claim is incredibly stressfull normally. You should reference their own wording if you have to complain.

Exactly; they will frequently reference the $industry ombudsman with a statement such as "You must go through our complaints procedure before contacting the ombudsman".
