Diesel engine cutting out (solved:-)

Featured Replies

Hi all, as you are probably aware I am new to the forum & I am really pleased with the Roomster.

A few days ago I was driving as normal when the engine cut out, pulled over tried to restart no luck, left it a few minutes tried again & she started 🙂 and then cut out again ☹️. Left it another few minutes tried again, she started & we got home. Following day started up, drove a while, cut out again.

Called out the AA, fault code P214700 Power supply Injector Sort to ground.

Contacted seller, he came over trailered away.

Turns out, the electrical connection to each injector has, 2 pins (male/female type) the female hole enlarges over time (a common fault with this engine 1.6 diesel) the car electrician just closes it up again.

Cars driving great again now.

I noticed the Roomster has had 3 new fuel injectors fitted & think this was to fix this simple fault, must have cost a fortune for the previous owner.

Hope this helps anyone with this problem 👍🙂

Another fault code that says exactly the opposite of what the actual fault is!

Glad to hear the engine is back on form and thanks for the info.
