I fancy changing the chrome grille surround to a black and have decided to have it painted.

The problem is im useless at anything like that

so im looking for a decent paint/body shop to do the job for me

Can any briskskodians reccommend such a place in the north wales/merseyside/cheshire area?

A mate had some repairs done to his rover mini at a place in runcorn, they did an excellent job.

My mam and dad live in frodsham so if the garage need the car for a while i can get a lift to and from the garage:thumbup:

Just take the chrome bit off and take that in to them.

you could always follow my handy guide and have a go yourself - Much more satisfying.

I'm just waiting for mine to come back painted Black Magic from a mate at the local dealers.

The guide made it too tempting to do myself - it wasn't difficult to take out the chrome bit. Much cheaper to have a 90% prepped piece to paint than take in the whole car. Those tabs do need a calcuated amount of force to lever them out without breaking any (none on my grille, thank goodness).

I understand from certain sources that the switch is associated with other cars getting out of your way faster:Yikes:

Its worked out quite well so far

I showed the furbie to my mechanic mate and he said it will be no problem getting it off

and yesterday i met an old friend of mine in the pub who happens to be a car sprayer and he said he will paint it for me gratis

So all in all

An easy job for me:D

That piece of chrome was SO out of place on a black vRS, I felt it made it look cheap - looks serious sleepr now, accent the chrome Skoda roundel but good....

Just follow Stu's guide - really easy to do yourself.

I take it you can drive around in the car when the grille is away at the paint shop

Yeah you can but it's not pretty and I don't know what the legal aspects of any sharp metal bits protruding.
