Is OBDEleven to recommend?

Featured Replies

I've read and can't have a right idea because probably you have to try it. Also VCDS for that matter but it is quite expensive and I can't find any used your opinions on it would be much appreciated and where can you find a genuine used

Used VCDS interfaces hold their value well and can be almost as expensive as a brand new one. If you are buying used, a platform/payment method with buyer protection is definitely recommended given the numbers of fakes.

Plenty of people here use OBDeleven as a cheaper alternative. The user interfaces are quite different and I don't know if OBDeleven gives the same level of support as VCDS.

Personally, I use VCDS but it all depends what you're trying to achieve and your budget...

I've been using OBD11 for five years. it's very nice and user friendly and no hassle of using cable connecting to the computer..you can diagnose your car even when you are driving (NOT RECOMMENDED THOUGH). its just an app. IMO, it's better than VCDS and does same thing as VCDS.

Thanks langers2k and automass for your responses much appreciated it might help me decide because it's not easy with all the range available out.

I have an OBDEleven unit.
I can say for the basics it works pretty well.
If you do more serious work on VW group cars, maybe better to invest in a VCDS interface.
