Door open warning

Featured Replies

I have recently had the door open indicator show that the front nearside door is open all the time. I have looked at the various responses and am reasonably certain that it is the micro switch in the lock.

My question is  - can the switch be bypassed by linking the red & blue wires leading into the micro switch?

Not a permanent fix I know.

I don't think that would help you, as the switch shorts those two wires when the door is open, not when it's closed. Maybe the microswitch is stuck in the actuated/pressed state; have you tried giving the area a clout to try to free it?

Ah thanks I didn't think it would be that simple

I expect your forum searching brought this up, but just in case it did not then here's is the link - may help with wiring and diagnosing if it really is the switch, etc...

After doing some digging and finding it hard to get a new lock unit (OEM 3B2837015AP) I read on one supplier site that OEM 3B2837015AP seemed to have been superseded by 5J2837015.

Does anyone know if this is the case?

My 08 1.6 16V hatchback has the factory radio remote & central locking.

As always any info will be gratefully received.
