Kodiaq roof lining colour

Featured Replies

Hi we are looking at a range of mobility vehicles for my autistic son. Ideally we are looking for a car with a light colour ceiling lining as other makes are mostly black making the interior very dark this causes issues with my son .

We have looked at the Skoda website but can not determine what the roof ling colour is or if there is a choice.

This seems a trivial problem but light plays an important issue for my son.

Thanks in advance for any help

Kind regards

john

Hi John.  Not a trivial matter at all given your son's situation.

Certainly older Kodiaqs had pale roof linings apart from the vrs and possibly sportline (our SE is pale) but I'm not sure about the newer ones.  I'll keep an eye out though.

Having said that I think the cars with dark roof linings also have dark pillar trims around the windows so if you can see what colour the pillars are the roof lining will be the same

Hi Skomaz thanks for your reply

We will have a look at the Skoda website again and see if we can spot any tell tale signs

Thanks

john

Welcome to the forum.

The Kodiaqs available are the 1.5 TSI DSG SE Drive & the SE L Executive.

Or are others available at present from Motability?

Hi,

Thank you for the images of the white ceiling lining.

For the mobility vehicle we are looking for we originally looked at a Ford dealership as it’s very close to where we live.

However the Ford dealer has advised all the Fords are now fitted with only black roof lining.

Thats been a great help.

Kind regards

John

Pretty sure it's only the SportLine / vRS that have the dark roof lining.

No idea if you can get them on a Motability vehicle, but the sunroof is awesome at making the interior much lighter 😄.

Would having a sunroof and a dark sunroof be enough? Are the Sportline or vRS available with dark rooflining and sunroof? I ask this because, when our local bus company bought some new buses 3 or 4 years ago, the deliberately bought vehicles with paler flooring and a fixed glass sunroof to reduce stress for autistic children,

Just thinking about the sunroofs...   have they fixed the leaking issue with them yet?

No leaks here... apart from the dozy moment when I used the windscreen washer when it was open 🤦‍♂️.

:D

@Skomaz   There are so many threads on this subject. The part causing the issue was modified and installed on cars built mid-late 2019. We had a recall notification on our 2019 Karoq when it went for it's 1st service where they found the modified part had already been installed at the factory.

Not to say other sunroof issues may exist, but the known 'blockage problem' folk keep referring to was resolved at least 3yr ago.

It'll be like the DQ200 gearbox issue, people still refer to it as a problematic gearbox.  I guess mud sticks.

There are still problems with DQ200,s since 2018.   As there are with DQ381,s.  Small in numbers.  But there is plenty time as they go out of manufacturers warranty.
