I'm pretty sure it is, but can anyone confirm Metal Grey is the same as Quartz Grey?

 

I've found a used part for a Fabia mk3 which is exactly what I'm looking for - the part number is exactly the same as used on my Karoq ( Also used on Kodiaq / Octavia 3 / Kamiq etc ). If I can get the colour right, that'll save paying someone £50 to spray paint it.

 

The only thing is the seller ( a UK vehicle breaker ) has described the part as 'Metal Grey' which I'm guessing may be a colour available in another market. Here in the UK, we have Quartz Grey. It certainly looks the same on the photo.  Colour code is same too - F7Y 

 

I'm taking an educated guess the seller has looked up the code on a European spec sheet and described it as 'Metal Grey'.

 

Anyone heard of 'Metal Grey' before?

I've got a 2018 Fabia Estate in Quartz Grey Metallic bought new.

In the spec sheet for the car, looked up on Erwin by VIN number, it is shown as

Colour code : F6, Lacquer Number : LF7Y, Quartz Grey Metallic.

 

Whereas, when I looked up the same spec sheet by Vin number on https://carinfo.kiev.ua/cars/vin/skoda/vin_check?

it gave the information as:-

Colour of body     F6 (GREY: metal grey)

That's of great help - thanks. As far as I can see there are four colour codes spread around the VW Group that appear to refer to the same colour.

 

it's the same code as SEAT's Rhodium Grey too.

I hope I have this right, but if the information I've gathered is correct then paint codes F6, F7Y, 7G7G, F6F6 and LF7Y are all the same colour !

 

We'll see when the part arrives.

Any update on this - I'm after a few parking sensors in this paint code...
