Replacement tyre(s)

Featured Replies

I have Michelin Alpin 6s on 3 of my winter wheels, since the NSF went totally flat 2 days after going back on.

I have an Avon with a similar tread depth...around 5mm...to the Michelin's, but on closer inspection is 9 years old.

I also have a brand new Avon.

Should I use the old tyre...this is the one that went on as a quick fix...the new tyre, or put 2 new tyres on the front?

It's a 4x4.

New tyres IMO.

Where is the air escaping?

It might have nothing to do with the tyre.

You might simply have a damaged or corroded rim.

Sometimes it can be a leaky valve.

Get the flat one checked first - corrosion on the rim can cause a tyre to leak even though it's in good condition.

Not the answer I was hoping for, but I suspect this is the way to go.

Haven't had chance to check the old tyre over properly...I will get round to it...but there was nothing obvious at first glance. The alloys are old & looking increasingly worse for wear though, so this is a definite possibility.
