Clarity on what the infotainment updates do?

Featured Replies

Today my Columbus infotainment system did an update, but the info about what the update did was sparse to non-existent.

Anyone know how can I find out exactly what has been fixed? Or what new features are in place?

Unless you work in their IT department that bakes the software, little chance I'm afraid.

They are very vague about what's fixed.

Latest update changed my ambient lighting settings, haven’t noticed any other changes that have occurred.

That’s interesting - what did it change?

Brightness turned down to minimum on doors and footwells. Have seen comment elsewhere that ambient light colour was changed after update.

I'm not sure whether my Karoq had an update a few months ago, but some of my fuel/mileage data changed, and the ambient lighting changed from its normal red to, iirc, default white.

They usually introduce bugs, glitches and all other manner of untested changes 😂

Had another update. The long term fuel consumtion has reset to zero, may or may not be down to the update. All phone contact data gone, but phone still appears to be paired. It asked me if I wanted to reimport the contacts, but then refused to do so. I had just started driving home after a long day and it was pouring with rain so I couldn't stop to try it stationary, but I will do so today. Other than that I haven't noticed anything.

I noticed my Long Term consumption screen has a mind of it’s own so I now reset it myself whenever it suits me, whether that be monthly, every thousand miles or just using it like a Trip 2 meter for a journey.

I’ve never seen a Skoda explanation for their logic.

From the owners manual…
