Front dome light does not turn on when doors are open, but the display between the gauges correctly display that doors are open/closed. Is this common problem?

Is the dome light switch in the correct position to turn the light on?

Yes and if i move it to the "light on" position with doors open and quickly to the door one, it does not turn off when doors are closed

from the wiring diagram it seems to be connected to the bcm somewhere or supposed to be connected 

Next step in easy fault finding is to remove the light assembly and check for correct operation of the light switch using a multimeter. You could also check by swapping the light unit with the one in the rear if it is the same.

Yea from the wiring diagram it seems to be most likely the switch itself as it is where BCM feeds and when everything else works, it is most likely culprit.

Firstly just give the switch a damn good thrashing from side to side, chances are that you'll wear off any oxidisation on the contacts and restore normal operation.
