Ignition key turn but no crank

Featured Replies

My ignition key turns to ignition on but the is no dash lights, it does not turn further to crank position. The battery is good would it be an issue with the barrel itself?

Well, that or the ignition switch.

Where is the ignition switch on the barrel?

It's behind it but it's all one assembly for security, you need to drill out the shear bolts to remove it and fit a new one.

Would new shear bolts have to be fitted?

Yes, they come with the new ignition lock assembly.

A lot of shear bolts leave surfaces which mean that a small chisel will get shear bolts out. If that fails, "eaziouts" ( after drilling a hole in the bolt should get them out)
