Skoda Superb 24 hour test drive - only limited to one?

Featured Replies

Hello.

I was wondering if anyone on here has tried to get more than one 24 hour test drive for either the Superb or Octavia during their current test drive promotion. I had one couple of months ago at one dealer. Today I tried at another dealer. The sales person I spoke to about arranging a 24hr test drive was out on a conventional test drive so wasnt there to sort me out with the 24hr test drive. So another salesman dealt with me. He had the forms in front of him then proceeded to tell me that I have to leave my car with them while I borrow their's for the 24hr drive. I thought this was a bit odd seeing that the 1st place I went to didnt require to keep my car - they only offered to in case i had no room where i lived, which was nice. I didnt drive my car there to give them so I said I come back another time. I was never told I had to leaved car with them on a 24 hr test drive from the person who dealt with me - I spoke to him on 2 seperate occasnions. I also have read the Terms and Conditions, and nowhere does it state that I need to leave my car with the dealer while I have theirs.

My questions:

1) Are there different rules for different dealers?

2) Would my name be flagged up when they telephone Skoda HQ to authorise test drive?

3) A potential customer with no car cannot take advantage of the 24hr drive?

Think I left my Felica, When i borrowed a Superb. Only to ease parking. My idea not mentioned by dealer.

Also Welcome to Briskoda.

I left my Peugeot but only because I had to drive 20 miles to nearest Skoda dealer. I bought my Fabia via the Internet as I got a much better deal i.e £750 off, but with hind sight I could have done even better if I had played one garage off against the other. Good luck with your choice it is a nice car to drive, permanently.......
