Adjust full LED headlights for driving on right

Featured Replies

Hi, does anyone know how to adjust full LED (not matrix) headlights for driving on right? I’m In Ireland and will be taking Superb Combi IV to France. Can’t find info on non-matrix LEDs anywhere.

From a 2020 owners manual:

I saw that in the owners manual but there is no “Travel Mode” setting in my vehicle settings.

Is this setting only available when the gps detects the vehicle is in a different country?

I’m pretty sure on my 2016 it’s meant to be automatic based on GPS location so I’d expect it to be the same (but I do have the on/off option), but then it can’t even sort the time change to +-1 hour even though it’s on automatic.

Thanks for input. I have a query out to dealer also but they’re slow responding, as you can imagine, I need to know 100% before I land in France. I’m hoping someone will have experience with the issue.

Wonder if it's an Irish spec thing as I'm sure I've seen reports of cars on the continent not having this setting.

Might be worth seeing if anyone local has VCDS/OBDeleven, have a look in the 4B adaptions for "Activate left/right hand drive switch-over". If there is no 4B, try 55 and look for that or travel mode 👍

This is not GPS based for sure.

Setting is either there or not. If it's not, like mentioned above perhaps it can be coded.

My Irish 2021 Superb has LED lights (not matrix), Columbus infotainment but no way of adjusting the lights for continental driving.  That said, I was in France last summer and had no issue with oncoming traffic in rural roads.  I've no idea if they adjusted automatically or if the beam pattern is such that its not a problem for oncoming drivers.

I drove into NI at Xmas and lots of notifications popped up and the car changed to recognition of mph from kph, etc. Perhaps the headlight adjustment is automated once I drive into a right hand drive country.

On Columbus go to

Vehicle

Settings

Lights

Left Hand Traffic (ticked for UK)

or Right Hand Traffic (tick when in France etc.)

I've an iV, currently in France, and like the clock it has adjusted automatically according to GPS. The only think I change (if you've an electronic dashboard) is change to kilometres in the settings/units menu.

Yes, I know what you mean. I contacted my dealer. They didn't have a clue. There's nothing in the owners' manual, and the tip about the infotainment system was encouraging, but ultimately fruitless as there's no option to change the lights direction. I'm surely not the first person to want to drive my Skoda on the Continent.
