Will a bike fit in a Yeti?

Featured Replies

I am going to replace my Fabia hatchback with something which has more luggage capacity. When I go out cycling for the day, I can fit my road bike (adult size, 700C wheels) in the back with the seats down but only if I remove the front wheel. Will a road bike fit in a Yeti with the seats out (without removing the front wheel)?

I have searched online but all I can find quoted is the luggage volume in litres which does not help very much.

I had a diagram for ages but recently deleted it, this may help.2130716463_Yetiininches.thumb.PNG.a71de410f30f93056ca33c70c55f468c.PNG

Many thanks for the information, very helpful.

The answer is that it will fit with the seats out and the front passenger seat fully forward.

I like the technical spec and the quirky looks of the Yeti but an Octavia estate (or even a Superb) may be slightly more practical for my specific purposes...

I hadn't considered the extra height of the Yeti to carry the bike upright like this. The pictures are very helpful. Many thanks.

..used to put our 2 bikes in the Yeti laid flat, rear seats removed, front (bike) wheels removed....

I've carried 2 bikes, but with front wheels removed, and one side rear seat also removed. My car has the spare wheel so slightly raised boot.

I did try to get the whole bike in with wheel attached, but it was not gonna happen easily

I could probably do two bikes (with front wheels removed and a sheet of carpet) in my Fabia: I have done that in my wife's old Kia Carens. I can confirm a road bike and a Brompton in a Fabia though. The reason I prefer to keep my front wheel in place is that it has a dynohub. I can put in a quick-release skewer but I have to mess with the wiring too (which is not designed for frequent connect/disconnect operations).

Awful video, but this is my 54cm frame adventure bike with 52cm wide bars (quite a bit wider than a standard road bike) that went in very easy. Moved the passenger seat forward slightly just to make it easier, but probably didn’t need too. This is just with the back seats folded, if they were removed it would be even easier.

Hi I cycle a lot and can fit my 50 cm road bike in with both wheels fitted if I move the passenger seat fwd about 3”.

i carry the bikes with the seats in just folded flat , if I take my wifes E bike or my MTB I have to remove the front wheels as they both have flat bars and in order to have the bars pointing at 12/6 oclock the front wheels need to come off. With a road bike you can angle the bars and tilt the front wheel up .

Thanks, that's very helpful.

I'm a couple of weeks away from sorting my finance, then I will be shopping for a Yeti.
