Skoda Connect.... doesn't.

Featured Replies

Ongoing issue with my 2019 Superb L&K.... It is not possible to get Skoda Connect to register properly on the backend servers. Usually you go through the registration procedure on the App or Website and then get to the point where you enter a numeric code on the car's touchscreen.  It appears to work, and you get a message in the App and an email saying it's successful... but the car then reports "Error: License Invalid" until you delete the registration. I have valid subscriptions to all the online services in the app.

Same issue whether using WiFi, SIM Card or Phone (Hotspot).

Have tried registering a new account, new email, and setting up as a new owner - same result.

I have provided proof of ownership to Skoda so the remote features can be enabled.

Skoda UK had the vehicle's. software "upgraded" - this changed the UI on the head unit to the more modern one. But the registration issue remains the same.

Next it went in for a "Clamp 30" procedure which I believe amounts to disconnecting the battery and resetting some stuff.

After that, skoda recommended TPI 2053453, which the dealer said was removing. certain fuses waiting and replacing them.

The next step is to replace the OCU computer, which is booked in for late April (warranty appointments seem to be scarce).

The service manager did show me the "Vehicle Data" section of the Service Portlet which showed that the entertainment unit was online and communicating with Skoda's servers, but no other module in the car had ever connected in the entire history of the vehicle.

In the meantime I'm going to Wireshark trace the car's internet communication during the registration to see if it is trying to communicate. There may be an error code or something in the trace that reveals a clue...

Has anyone else had similar issues and managed to resolve them?

Or as my local dealers says "nobody bothers to set it up, and if it doesn't work they don't complain"  ...?

Sounds like it needs a newer version of hardware and/or software installed.

Mine uses:

Device no: 3V0035820K

Hardware: H22

Software: 0306

Nav: 22.12

Not sure how relevant the above is but you may want to ask your dealer should you be running the above hardware & software which works ok on my car.

There may be further hardware involved such as the eSim unit, aerial etc that needs updating as something obviously isn't matching up when talking to the Skoda servers or app.

Have you set the permissions to maximum on the infotainment system - just a thought.

Skoda UK are now saying that the next step is an appointment to visit a 'master technician'.  Apparently the master technician isn't actually present - it's done by a regular technician but in consultation with the master.

I captured the version info from my service screen:
