Leaking rear washer - how to remove trim?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Read a few posts of other people suffering problems with rear washer, unfortunately seems like I've got a disconnection or split somewhere internal though. This is on a Octavia 2017ish, hatchback.

I get a bit of a jet out from the rear washer, but I also get quite a dribble out from around the rear cam / number plate area. And then quite a big water collection in the spare wheel well. Maybe a problem in two places?

I started looking at removing the trim, and around the boot lid around the high rear brake light its come away ok. And I can prise off a few of the holders around the edge. But then where it butts up against the plastic hard trim on the left and right hand sides of the window, and also when it meets up with the latch part of the boot lock, I'm a bit stuck.

Similarly I thought trying to see whats going on in the lower section of the boot is worth it, I guess thats where the pump might be? A bit stumped there too - found one star lock type screw, and looks like there's two much larger ones that I presume are holding the boot latch lock piece in place. A bit less gungho taking those out as they look a bit more structural.

I've had a search for 'boot trim removal' and that sort of thing but no luck. Anyone got any pointers? Or is this a bad plan? Just pains me to fork over a few hundred quid for what I'm hoping is just a tube replacement.

Thanks

Brill thanks, watched it and all makes more sense now. Was going to pop out and start in as the sun was shining, and it just started raining!
