I’ve given a descriptive title to the thread and moved it to the Octavia section where you’ll likely get a better response.

At nearly 5 years old and I imagine having sat through CoVID have you checked the battery?

A dying battery can cause a whole world of crazy on modern cars and 5 years is not an unreasonable battery life.

OP says the battery has been replaced.

Missed that.

As long as it’s a suitable battery and a recode was carried out, then that’s covered.

Start looking for an independant workshop, ask if they have ODIS and can remove CP from your part.

If you have DSG it's the electronics that controls the DSG gearbox.

Just out of curiosity, were you able to start the car with component protection for canbus activated? I am planning to do the same as my local skoda dealer wouldn't fit canbus i bought from outside. So question is, can i fit the new canbus and drive to dealer to have CP removed and coded?
