Samsung Galaxy S23 and Skoda Octavia IV

Featured Replies

Hi guys, is there any solution to get AA working on Swing with S23 ultra? I have tried almost everything on my octavia 4 but nothing helped.

All I can get is connection failed and I can see two phones in my menu. One for Bluetooth connection and the other one for AA connection.

  • That's odd! Wired AA should work without any glitch. Concerning the wireless AA, IIRC since MY22 or MY23 all mk4s should have it. The first 2 years only had wireless CP and wired AA. (someon

I decided to go with Samsung s23+ and can confirm it works fine with AA. I had some doubts, cause while googling, I saw some people posting about issues.   Thank you again for all the answer

  • Welcome back! I haven't seen you around for quite some time! I hope this means you've been enjoying your car without any serious issues.   I've tested an S23 Ultra for a slightly more than a

Sorry, which one is the Swing? :D

I've got S23 Ultra and it works on my vRS perfectly. Not sure if it's the Swing multimedia, though...

The basic one with smallest screen

Ah, ok. So what's the problem? Did you try connecting via ceble first? Looking at the image above, I'd say the first one is just bluetooth phone connection, whereas the second one is the Android Auto.

I have tried both methods - deleting every phone from my car and then connecting my phone with cable first and with Bluetooth first. Both methods ended with the same result - two connected phones as you can see in the picture above. Car says connection failed and the phone shows connected to car notification.

I have tried two different cables (one of them was working perfectly with my old phone), downgrading to AA 9.2 updating to AA 10 beta, clearing cache, clearing data, reinstalling but nothing worked

It does exactly the same as my S23+ with the 2023 Octavia 4 Swing.

I couldnt make it work, no matter what. Upgraded the car's software, updated AA to version 10, still "can't connect". And I mean by cable, I can't even dream of wireless.

1. Does the hands free mode work? Can you talk through the stereo?

2. When you say old phone worked with the cable, dod it work with the Swing?

Got a 200$ Motorola, works like a charm, only use it for AA.

It's a disgrace for Samsung, really.

That's very weird. I've got no issues, but it's not the Swing...

Bluetooth and handsfree works without any problem but I cannot connect AA. I had Mate 20 pro which worked without any problem for almost two years.

That's very weird. Have you tried contacting Samsung support? They could suggest something...

So you don't use AA? Because for me it's very important and I am thinking of returning the phone and buying something else

I have found some guy complaining about the same issue on Samsung support website and they told him to contact Skoda. So he did And Skoda told him to contact Samsung...

It was the same issue but with Scala 2022

Yes, I have tried all mentioned here

That's very weird. If you have another phone that's working, clearly it's not the phone... Have you tested the same setup (cable, car) with another phone?

I have also tried my brother's galaxy S21FE and it works without any problem.

I have absolutely no idea what it is. I prefer wired AA so I don't want to "solve" this problem buying some wireless AA adapter

Very weird... Where are you based?

I am from the Czech Republic. So I should be the one knowing everything about this car 🙂

I was thinking of testing my phone with your car and viceversa, but you're too far from me... :D Probably worth popping in to Mladá Boleslav... ;)

I am going to contact Skoda and I'll let you know. Thank you for your time I appreciate it

Sorry that I couldn't be of further help...

I called Skoda support two days ago and then provided them all necessary info. They know about this bug and they are working on update. They told me they cooperate with Samsung, but they don't know when the update will we available.

It is the same situation as last year with S22 series which was updated this April (so over a year after launch).

There are more cars affected - Fabia, Kamiq, Octavia 4 (seems like only Swing) and other similar cars made by VW group with MIB3.

Unfortunatelly all we can do is wait or buy some wireless AA adapter.

In mean time I have tried almost everything I have found on reddit and Google. Different cables, all AA versions from 7.6 to 10 beta, deleting cache + data, wiping cache partition, changing all usb relates stuff in developer settings, changing AA dev settings, reseting and restarting car's infotaiment, allow usb debugging, different USB modes, disabling battery optimization, praying to all AA gods, practicing black magic and sacrificing sheep to Google developers but nothing helped.

If I missed something (there are many possible combinations) please let me know, because all we can do is wait fo the update.

You missed the human sacrifice.... :D

It's weird that the Swing has this bug. Hope they'll fix it soon!

I have a S23 ultra and octavia 2023 with a Swing radio (no wifi).  The smartphone does not connect to Android Auto.  I bought a wireless AA converter on Alliexpres and after using it I was able to establish a wireless connection.

Does it work when using the USB cable?
