You guys may be on to something!

Hardly new is it, assuming this wouldn't be helping matters! How do I get the snow grate off? I've snapped one bit trying 😔. There's a large leaf stuck under there!!

Appears to be four catch type things on the underside, why they make things difficult, because they can!  Personally I'd give the edges a sparing spray of GT85 (releasing/ penetrating lubricant with PTFE) and ease up one side of the four then the opposite, then third and fourth.  Or break the other side to where you've broken the first and take it out as two parts and glue back together as one before refitting.

Usual cosmetic job for sales of engine bay looking clean but mucky and unkept out of sight, compare new filter with old.

I'd also have a look at the cabin filter and drainage channels in engine bay side and elsewhere just in case the leaves are there too.

So, lots more driving today.

Before I head to the garage for a check, just tell me it's not my driving style? Or I'm expecting too much of the car?

Couple occasions, driving happily in 6th at 70, 2k revs, Hill coming up, foot flat, climbs 71,72......73... Hill continues (steep but not crazy) 72,...71...72....71...... Sticks there and almost like it has nothing left in the tank! I felt like I was in an old 1l car going up hill where I wanted to keep changing down!

Am I expecting too much? Is 2k revs at 70 a matter of drop a gear? My old diesel would do 60 in 6th and continued to climb the whole way up hills without hesitation. I'm used to cruising at dual carriageway speeds then if needed just putting foot down and getting power, maybe I expect too much though?!

Interestingly the last journey was an hour, 15 min of stop start then 45 min of 60mph plus roads. Stopped on the drive, turned off and assume a regen was going on as sounded like loud fans running after engine off? I forgot a journey so headed straight back out anyway, after that (10 minutes) I couldn't hear it when I stopped. (should you do anything different if a regen is happening?

Thanks

You can normally hear when it’s doing a regen. Exhaust note gets a bit more throaty and the revs stay at 1000 when you stop at a junction.

if I twig it’s doing a regen I do try and keep the revs above 2500.

you maybe expecting a bit to much driving up the hill in 6th, it certainly isn’t the most economical way, ignore the change change selector on the dash drop down a gear. I tend to be in 4th and change up to 6th when I get to the top on A roads, motorways just leave it in 6th mine will pull hard in 6th at 70

I have left mine out and also blanked off the hole in the inlet pipe which runs across from the left to the air box across the top of rad. You can buy the clip in plastic part.
mouse filled mine full of sunflower seeds 😕

Thanks Yeti.

I am starting to think it's just got a different power delivery than I'm used too. Having driven it, it's alot quicker than I'm used too between 0 and 70mph! Just not quite got the same pull I'm used too once in 6th. You're right, it's not economical,i just don't think I've changed down a year in years just not used to it haha.

I'm working my way through this advice here and will keep an eye on things, so far really enjoying the car. (Except my MPG, but I believe that maybe right foot related!) If all goes well, time to save up and decide if the retrofits are worth it!!!!
