Fabia VRS 5J offset question

Featured Replies

I have found some wheels I like.

225/40/R18 7.5 Width ET50

Looking on willtheyfit.com it shows they should be ok however I am worried about the 50 offset. The offset range for the VRS 5J goes up to 50 but I am not sure they would rub/clear the brakes. For reference I have the OEM 205/40/R17 7 Width ET48 wheels on.

I have tried finding info about people using offset 50 but I cannot find anything. Would these be ok?

Is this a Mk2 Fabia vRS & on OE suspension?

Wrong tyre size as a starter.

I tried 18" off a Audi A1 Competition Sport.

They were 225/35 R 18.    18 x 7.5J ET46

You would need to reduce the Steering Assist and drive very good roads.

There are Mk2 Fabia on 18" threads.

MK2 Fabia VRS estate with the optional suspension upgrade I think.

How do you mean steering assist? Also very good roads, what does this mean?

The car comes from the factory with the Steering Assistance they have to suit the 205/40 R17's.

You can reset to Disabled / more assistance, Sportier, different age vRS different option, numbers or name. Maybe in winter on winter tyres you want less assistance as well.

Same with XDS setting, or brake assist.

These things have been discussed often over the past 12 years, try the search function.

Sorry to be a pain.

Tyre size regardless what offsets are available to use on the fabia? Would ET50 be viable? I just want something that won't rub

There are lots of mistakes on wheel-size.com

The Skoda parts catalogue shows the following 15", 16", and 17" rim sizes for the Fabia MK2. Notice that there are no rims that have an offset of more than ET43.

Fabia MK2 VRS rims

6Jx15 ET43

6.5Jx16 ET43

7Jx17 ET41

What OEM part number are your 7Jx17 rims? I doubt that they actually have an offset of ET48.

Even the later Fabia MK3 doesn't use rims with an offset of more than ET46.

Re Mk3 Fabia.

They have a wider track and have 18" alloys as an option.

Mk2 Fabia vRS came on 205/40 R 17's and the Sister Twinchargers Polo, Ibiza & A1 cam on 215/40 R 17's.

There were as i remember OE Gigaro on the Mk2 Fabia vRS are 7J x 17, ET48 , 5x100 with a 57.1mm Centre bore.

*My memory can be wrong, as can Skoda and what numbers they show.)

Dark Chrome, Black, Silver or White.

See the advert at the bottom showing ET41

The Skoda parts catalogue shows that the Gigaro rims are 7Jx17 ET41, not ET48.

EDIT,

I can not find any showing other than ET41 other than people selling used ones and some say ET 45 & other ET48.

The OP has the car and the wheels and can look at the back of them and see if they are ET 43 or ET48.

As for scores on the doors, or in print they mean nothing other than to those without the car or the wheels.

@Carlston

Can you find the Parts Number for the Factory Fit Gigaro from 2010 ,

or the ones you bought as Parts and which came when Skoda replaced wheels under warranty that were not identical?

Nice options for Mk4 Fabia. but then a totally different platform.
