Kodiaq warning lights after flat battery

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

my battery ran flat whilst I was on holiday (dash cam plugged in - amateur I know). When jumped the following driver warning assist lights remain:

parking sensors no longer work

dynamic lighting

ESC

hill start assist

front assist

auto park

basically anything using a sensor

now I know you’re going to say drive it a while and it will go away but it’s been a week and I’ve drove around 12 hours.

Is there anything I should be pressing to reset or do I continue to wait?

cheers

Try driving in a circle on full lock left then full lock right to reset the steering angle sensor.

Is the Auto Hill Start still working or is the warning light correct? I know it's not the same model but I had a whole lot of warning lights come the other day on my Karoq for no apparent reason when it was parked on my drive.

Couldn't get them to go out for more than 24 hours and was about to call out Roadside Assist when I decided to take it for short local journey to see whether I really did not have power steering ( the warning that really worried me). Blow me, after less than 100 yards, I stopped, auto hill start came on and everything went back to  normal.

It defies logic I know but that's what happened! The only thing I can think may have caused it was having the key fob in my pocket with other keys which caused the remote unloocked button to be pressed for about 30 seconds. I only realised the remote had been operated when I found everything unlocked and all windows open.

Thanks for your replies, I’ve tried both of the above but no luck! Everything I see online says cycling the steering and driving a bit sorts it out but I’ve done almost a 500 miles now and no luck!

One last thought. Do you have the MySkoda app? If so, select 'Inspect' and the middle of three windows is 'Vehicle Health Report'. This showed I had one unspecified fault ( no b use, I know) but at least I knew the diagnostics had found something. This was with my OBDII reader showing no fault codes in the ECU at the same time.

Now my fault has cleared the same MySkoda window shows 'We have not found a defect'.

Might help if you call out Roadside Assistance or contact the dealer.

Thanks the app just says dynamic lighting is faulty but I’m not sure why that stops all sensors and driver-assist. I’ve tried all of the above but still no luck.

just a question. Can you use roadside assist for this to avoid going in? I feel a bit cheeky considering the car is drivable but I do have Skoda assist included

Simple answer is that I don't know as I'm a new Skoda owner too.  But, it's worth giving them a ring - they can only say no!

I would argue that you have multiple lights showing and you're not happy driving like that as you don't know if you really have a problem or not.

It's part of the warranty so I believe we should be entitled to it.

Let us know how you get on. Good Luck.

I did a battery on an SV this morning (pretty much the same architecture) and it also lit up like a Christmas tree and and a road test didn't help, I did a full clear and still had faults so I went through the controllers one by one and cleared all but TPMS and ACC. Then I did a road test and TPMS cleared itself and I cycled the ignition and ACC cleared.

Forgive my ignorance but how does one do a 'full clear' or even individual controllers?

Do you need VDRS ( or whatever the correct name is)?
