Original blutooth

Hello!

I have original bluetooth instalation in my Octavia II and I have some problem with connection with my phone (Nokia N70).

I had Nokia 6630 before N70 and everything was working. With N70 I could establiesh connection but I have problem with LINE2. I can't use phone when I use LINE2.

Maybe sombody know if upgrade for bluetooth instalation exist? I already asked on my service but they don't know nothing.

Best regards

Is this being used in the UK?

Only the Orange network use Line 2 and only Orange varient N70's will have the correct software to deal with that. That said I wasn't aware of Skoda offering a Bluetooth installation as a fitted option.

In my experiance with Jaguar/Ford/Landrover installations the handset software is the first thing to go for as it is very often not possible to upgrade the installation.

Trdonja is from Slovenia.

I cant help with your problem sadly, the phone is proberbly the issue and may require a firmware upgrade.

For example, I had a Pioneer DEH-P70BT that had bluetooth hands free built in. Worked well with my phone, but the Sony P800 was totally incompatible.

Yeah Skoda offer full handfree integration in non-UK countries. Recently this has been upgraded too to offer bluetooth support. I think VW/Audi offer it too but it's pricey. Not too dear on the Seat Leon though.

For some reason the Vag group gave Skoda UK a by-ball on it. Shame really as it basically does the same thing as a Parrot CK-3100 using the maxidot display instead. The sound quality is better too and the kit can be controlled via the multifunction steering wheel.

Of course it's not as easy to upgrade the firmware as it is for a Parrot kit.

it could be a phone issue. if the kit is for an 'older' phone, it may not properly recognise the newer N70.......maybe i have missed the point there.......

Problem is because Nokia 6630 and N70 are just a little diferent. N70 has 2 M pixels, a little more internal memory and better design.

I think that the bluetooth module is the same. N70 just have new software.

I am very angry because I like N70 phone but I could't use it in my car.

Yes it is an option. I payed for bluetooth a little less than 300 euros.

It's working very good but with right phones. I don't have the right one. I wiil change the phone.

There are various part no.s and it's a factory fit only option. There's quite a lot to it including wiring to the radio, a replacement controller for the multi-function steering wheel (you have to already have the multi function wheel already btw), a microphone to install, connection to the CAN-BUS system and VAG-COM re-programming for a start. Do yourself a favour and buy a Parrot CK-3100.

i got the RS mkII so i there is no multi-function steering wheel.

i thought of the Parrot. but i dont want some "ugly" box laying around on the dashboard.

is there some box that parrot makes that can be hide somewhere in the car and not visible?

dammit.. really wanted the bluetooth integrated in the car.:(

The control box for the Parrot kit hides behind the dashboard. You only see the controller and the mic can be hidden behind the little grille next to the courtesy light.

Will it be so hard to change from a standard phone original installation to a bluetooth one, I mean using the skoda bluetooth kit?

Not sure about that tbh. You could try searching european sites and forums as it's unlikely anyone on here will know. Try your dealer.

I am on my second Parrot and I think the compatability is awful.

Any Installation will have firmware issues at some point as handsets are always changing. Parrot kits can get a firmware upgrade, I did mine a few days ago getting the software from parrot.fr

is it possible to pair up two phones to the parrot?

so when my girlfriend uses the car she doesnt have to pair upp the phone and so on?

All 4 paired but only 1 actually connected at a time of course. It searches for each phone in turn so if 'your' phone was paired first, then SWMBO's and your phone is range when she turns on the ignition, it will pick up your phone instead of hers. There is no way of switching over to her phone unless you drive out of range of your phone or turn your phone off and then restart the kit. I don't think you can switch phones from the menu but don't quote me on that.
