Computer Glitch?

Featured Replies

Hello, "long time no see"

Don't just laugh.

We have a lovely 2015 L&K 2Litre Diesel, Manual, Octavia Estate, (43,000 miles to date) which we've had since it was only a few months old.

The Seat Memory function no longer works, and on the Main Display, when playing music from Spo**ify, the  Song Details no longer appear on screen, I can live with these small annoyances, although everything else still seems to be working ok, should I worry about any impending more serious fault developing, eg Cruise Control/Lane Assist/distance keeping etc. In other words, is the on board Computer or InfoSystem on the way put, and-----if so ------What should I do about it?---Or is it time for it to go to a new home?

Thanks,

Robin.

Get the battery / alternator checked first.

Thanks for the quick response,

It's a very nearly new Yuasa Battery, a big one because the car has "Stop Start",

The car has been standing for a week, the battery showed 12.3 volts, which as soon as I started the engine went up to 14.6 volts, so I think it's pretty safe to assume the Battery and Alternator are fine.

Is it an AGM or EFB battery, and has the car been coded to tell it a new battery has been fitted? If not it could still be load shedding to protect the old battery!

Ah, I'm not sure about that, so I'll have to do some checking, thanks for the suggestion.

Petrol Dave,

It's a Yuasa 9096 AGM Battery,

The 10 Digit Battery Code has been input (This afternoon) and the car "accepted" it,

So far no cure, still those little Glitches.(Seat Memory and Music Title Display not working)

I'll try out all the Functions tomorrow.

Cheers,

Robin.

Also worth clearing any codes that indicate an ancillary has been shutdown for power saving reasons, if there are any, and any codes on the seat memory and infotainment system - some codes are 'sticky' and will affect the operation even after the root cause has been solved until the codes are cleared.

Thanks, Oh Dear! That sounds like a visit to a Main Dealer may needed!

Anyone with VCDS or OBDeleven or similar can do it - no need to visit a dealer.

Ah, that's encouraging, thank you, I'll ask the local garage who helped me by entering the battery code, hopefuly they'll be able to do it.

Cheers,

Robin.
