I've no idea but it sounds interesting! :D

He he, nice one Dave.

I think you'll be very lucky to find a prefab one, but there are quite a few companies that will make you a bespoke one depending on your requirements, probably only around £200 too.

Clicky is just one I pulled off google.

Is is just a race prep thing, or would you like some "bling" to go with it? ;)

Plans maybe afoot. If I go ahead with the plans, I will need a roll cage, buckets, and harnesses. I'll also be selling an Octavia, as it might feel a little inadequate. :D

edit - and a 1.2 htp badge for the boot :)

I'm pretty sure you can get one from the Demon Tweeks motorsport catalogue.

Dave. Do you read evo? They had one fitted to their M3 ring car. Can't remember which company done it. I'll try and find out. Sure they make one off's if you cant get one.

Any building site where scaffolding has been erected.

Are you after a fully functional (permanent?) one or just one that looks good. IIRC, quality varies a lot and you might be better off approaching motorsport suppliers (or even people who rally the Fabia professionally) for a decent one :D

Not for competition use, but not for show either. Sent a couple of emails out, so i'll see what happens

and if you want a full on motorsport one have one that goes through the bulk head to the suspension.

Have a look in the Demon Tweaks catalogue. I'm sure I saw one in there.

On the other hand, unless you are going to fully strip out the interior you will find that most serious cages won't fit unless a LOT of interior trim is removed. Fitting the Sparco cage into my Clio was a nightmare. The "bolt in" cage needed a lot of cutting & welding.

Another point is that a cage is actually bloody lethal unless you are wearing a helmet & are fully harnessed in which is extremely impractical in a road car. Too much hard metal near your head. Great for track days but not fun driving there.

As a plus, when I got my Clio insured the presence of a cage really pushed up the insurance.

Good luck!!!!!!

Steve

Dave, I love you. If you do what I think you are going to do I will be in Blackpool more than York.

The plan sounds awesome :D

I am guessing (and this is only a guess)

1.8T in a Fabia.

Good lad if he does.

By the way, Dave Fox, there will be another vRS owner near you (and Shifty and Loz) in a couple of weeks time...Me!

Nope ;)

Just the thought of it makes me smile, it would be so raw.

Wheelspin anyone?

I think he's planning on something a little TDI. I'm going to have to look at something similar just to keep up.

WRC lookalike Fabia VRS ? with 250 BHP PD diesel engine ? or just a very safe track day car ? sounds like it maybe an expensive build if the OCTY VRS is going

All will be revealed in the fullness of time. I can confirm, the diesel engine will be staying. :D

Want a carbon fibre bonnet to keep the front end weight down a bit? ;)
