XL Tyres were fitted to Mk2 Fabia vRS or Monte Carlo including TSI's as standard.  All of 105 ps.  205/40 R 17's/

Hello Toot

Have I bought XL tyres?

@jemjemyou have the tyres, do they have XL on the sidewall?

No big deal if you have.  I run them on my Corsa Electric which came on 205/45 R 17's.

Just got a bulge on winter tyres i put on to replace the last winters i wrecked on potholes.  (I will keep one incase needed as a spare in the future, otherwise they are scrap.)

Too hot really for them just now so away to put on the crap Michelin Primacy 4 the car came with before it is handed back at 3 years old.

Hello

The tyres are indeed XL and I hadn't realised that XL meant Extra Load.  There's also a warning on the tyres of "risk of explosion due to under inflation or overloading.  Mount only on rims approved for radial tyres.  Do not mount on 16.5 rims"

Frankly, I don't know what to inflate them after learning that?  They're on alloy wheels and as mentioned in a reply in this post, the car arrived with Antia alloys 215/45 R16 86H

I called the Skoda garage this morning who said I've probably got another puncture.  I shan't be going back there with this problem though.

Inflate them to something just bellow the ECO pressures showing on the Fuel Filler flap & if that feels too crashy a ride drop them a few PSI.

Do not inflate to anything like the Max pressure figure shown on the sidewall.

None of it is rocket science.

Sadly who you use to fit your tyres can not give you advice you can trust.    Looks like you can not trust in the Dealership employees either.

Find a good Tyre Fitting Centre, there must be one someplace near you.

Hi Toot

I found on Performance Alloys website, that the tyres I've bought are recommended for my vehicle.

I'll take your advice on inflation in future.  I did use professional tyre fitters to fit them.

So, I'm feeling less anxious now and I'll take the tyre off to find the problem and change the valve at the same time.  Fortunately, there is a proper spare tyre in the boot.

Thank you again

@jemjemAfter wheel / tyres changes and tyre pressure changes are you resetting the TPMS each time?
