bought a new fabia 2019 tsi dsg s/a problem

Featured Replies

hi we have bought a 2019 fabia dsg s/a and after starting the car for a few minutes and then turning it off under the bonnet i can hear the anti freeze powering back into the expansion pot like theres a motor powering it after the engine is turned off , after a minute or so it stops , does anyone know if its a circulating pump and no need to worry , regards

No need to worry, the coolant pump does continue and make sure that all is well when you have the ignition off.

Making sure the engine is not cooked.

PS.

Flagged for a mod to move out of Fabia 'Guides' to the Fabia Mk3 section.

Em, antifreeze is one of 2 components in a mixture called "coolant". The other one is water, and since you live in Derbyshire I advise actually using deionised water rather than the local hard water.

^^^ This.

Anti freeze / Summer Coolant / Corrosion Inhibitor.  All in there with the H20.

Any need to talk to me as though I'm thick , I simply wanted to know what the noise was and I got my answer above about the run on pump  .....no need pal
