Auxiliary gauge mounting.

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if there are any MOT testers on here who can let me know if mounting gauges on top of the dashboard in the centre would prevent the MOT pass for windscreen obstruction.

They would be in a pod like the one shown.

( Old gauges for reference).

Thanks in advance.

I had a GPS speedometer fitted just slightly right of where your gauges are and a sat nav stuck on the windscreen just ahead of it, and the car passed several MOTs like that.

I've never had any issues with this at MOT time.

If you Google you will find the zone of the windscreen where no stone chips or visual obstructions are allowed, I'm pretty sure that its higher up than where your guages will be.

Thank you for your answers, At the moment my actual gauges are mounted in the radio space above a single din stereo, I fancy an upgrade but all the really good stereos are double din.
