Starting Issues with a 2011 TSi

Featured Replies

My 2011 TSi with the DSG auto recently refused to start after being parked for roughly 30 minutes.

The starter motor didnt try and turn it over at all, just the relay clicking and the dash lights flashing.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't just flat battery, as it had no load on it for most of that time, and just the radio for about 10 minutes at the end, plus the complete lack of turnover while still running the radio fine.

Has anyone had anything similar?

Yes, a bad battery will do this, how old is the battery?

that's a good point, that I probably should have thought off. I don't know, bc I've not had the car long, but it could well be original.

It's due in for an MOT soon, so I might just ask them to check the battery at the same time

? Have you charged the battery and got it started now?  I take it you mean you will use the same place that does your mot to check the car before the MOT.   Better just have it checked sooner than later if 10 minutes listening to the radio is flattening the battery.
