Exhaust Heater Shield has dropped off!

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone

I assume the part that has fallen off my 2014 Fabia TDi 105 is the heater shield. I have photo attached showing the flattened part. The part number looks like 6R0 253 611 AA. Can anyone identify the part in case I am wrong so I can order one from Skoda

It is indeed a heatshield, your car can probably live without it quite happily if you can bear the loss.

Googling your part number suggests that it may actually be the outer skin of the rear exhaust silencer.

It has the arrow to show the direction of exhaust flow.

Heat shields are not normally flat, they have a small honeycomb type pattern.

I went to Skoda dealership yesterday & their parts manager couldn’t find the part on their system. I have had another look under the car & I reckon the plate fits to the rh side of the aluminium heat guard & goes under the exhaust as some type of cover. It seems odd that Skoda don’t have the part on their schematics??

ETKA only lists parts that are available to buy as spare parts. I think in a lot of cases, from factory the rear exhaust and next section are a continuous length, but this can't be fitted with rear beam in place, so fitting a replacement rear box involves cutting and sleeve jointing, and a different part number...

See 7th and other pics here for evidence of the rear box outer skin idea: Rear silencer / Muffler / Exhaust Seat Ibiza from 2013 to 2015 6R0253611aa 222421 - NORSIDER

This is dragging on.

Either way, you can't buy one and the car will be fine without it.

Chuck it in the bin and move on.
