Starting issue

Featured Replies

Having issues with starting up, turn the key and it cranks for around 5 seconds before kicking in, garage done diagnostic nothing showing and changed fuel filter still the same, anyone having or had similar issues and solved it.

It's a 2014 skoda superb 2l tdi with 200k on the clock, new starter earlier this year.

Try turning ignition on and leaving it a short while before actually trying to start.

Had a similar issue with a petrol car and that worked, would start right away but like you would just crank before firing if you tried right away.

Turned out to be the fuel pump in the end

Worth ago but not really sure how the diesel system works
