VRS Boost hose advice

Featured Replies

Hi all. I am looking to replace the 4 x intercooler/turbo boost hoses on my 55 reg Fabia Vrs, ASZ engine. (The hoses are a little worn and the pipe connector into the turbo is loose inside the housing)

My question is...which hoses should I purchase? Would cheaper ebay hoses suffice or would it be worth shelling out on a set of silicon hoses such as the Creation Motorsport hoses?

The car is standard and has a standard SMIC. Thank you. 😊

In my opinion you shouldn't spend any more than you need to, boost hoses are either airtight or they aren't.

Thank you Sepulchrave. I was thinking to go this way but thought I should check before making a mistake.

Replace item #4 here.... And the retaining clips and seals. A replacement can be got for not much money. The VAG OEM is stupid priced however. Can get Flurosilicone replacement with connectors also. Though that's £110.

Frankly, if the hoses are not popping off or there's not obvious damage to the retaining "nubs" on the existing hoses, keep 'em!

Thanks for the reply Vindaloo. The hose that fits into the turbo is quite loose inside the turbo housing and the lower hose that fits into the intercooler, the tab is worn through, so I am replacing these hoses with some 'ebay specials'. They appear half decent quality and easy enough to fit. Hopefully this will solve my issue and fingers crossed, improve my mpg.

I'm trying to find a set of hoses for my vRS with a BLT engine. I'm struggling to find full part numbers for some of them. Can anybody help? On the link for the breakdown drawing posted by vindaloo I need, number 6 Pressure hose (BLT) 6Q****38L, number 3 air pipe 6Q****70N and number 7 air pipe 6Q****70J.

Thanks
