Suspension Upgrade

That`s been a week with the new Bilstein B6 non DCC dampers. Using original springs. Everything that others have said is accurate. Much more stable through corners, huge improvement in dampening, not hitting bump stops. Road imperfections, potholes etc feel much less crashy than standard. Money well spent.

The Bilstein B6 non-DCC shock absorbers for the Superb MK3 are particularly high quality because they are a mono-tube design.

By comparison, the Bilstein B6 DCC shock absorbers for the Superb MK3 are the inferior twin-tube design.

No wonder, there's been a huge improvement.

Sadly, many Superb MK3 owners have DCC shock absorbers so won't be able to experience the excellent and superior mono-tube design.

If I want to change to bilstein b6 shocks can I use the oem springs top mounts and bearings

Yes, that's what I have done. Only the shocks were changed. Huge improvement.

Happy days did you do front and back at once or just front or back

Mine had B6 on the back (only) for a few weeks as the garage didn't have time to do all 4. I wouldn't recommend it - feels a bit weird to have half the car stiffened up and half bouncing around. I've now had the B6 all round for about 6 months and very pleased overall - a little firm but so much more controlled especially on undulating twisty roads.

Hi, I have DCC suspension and probably will need to change shocks next or after the next year.

It seems Bilstein B6 damptronic is way to go. But it almost seems to me, that it is better to buy B6 nonDCC monotube version and deactivate DCC. At least it seems like that from comments in this thread.

Is that so?

Is DCC still better even with twin-tube Bilstein shocks? In terms that in sport mode its more stable than non DCC mono-tube version?

Or mono-tube version is so better, that twin-tube is better only in ability to change stiffness?

Can you guys tell me where you are buying your Bilstein shocks? I'm looking for 23-254343 and 20-267537

Is trusted? The adress is in a mall

I used Demon Tweeks (front) and ebay (rear - think they came from Latvia!) The rears were difficult to source at the time and were on backorder from Bilstein. All worked out fine!
