It's fine. From 100% and back country roads climbing and coming back down in D setting it was showing 4.7 miles on leader regen. Sitting checking, In Sport it shows 151 miles range and in ECO 189. Showing this once back home.

I had a 10A but saw a cheap multi amperage version which can do 13a and actually can be set to 16A in one is EU or can get house socket converted to female Commando socket.

Where are you getting them from - is it somewhere local or national / on-line as I've started looking for All Seasons for the Kodiaq but in a 235/55/R18 100V (or above)

MG5 good budget ev estate with plenty of go go , to much some times as I used to wheel spin 🤭

Not much difference between eco and standard on kwh

Gave mine up as it was to low for my mum and brother to get in and out of and was causing me left leg pain due to lounging seat position

Mine was a 2022 pre face long range excite in silver

Also why didn't MG use psi for tyre pressures , you can go between C and F on temp

@Redestate My left foot is doing the accelerator and brake pedal.

Eco is just fine in town.

3 things to select as driving off from home. ECO, max regen & Autohold.

As to Fahrenheit, that means nothing to me as i have lived my life with Celsius, PSI, Miles & MPH / MPG.

kW & kW/h is fine, but thought of how many miles from them.

I was going to keep the MINI at least until after this winter if not til August when due handing back.

It p!$$ed me right off last night, well not the car but the Phone App.

It never Logged me Out, it deleted it's self. Remote info gone.

I have not Re-registered with VIN etc. So i was charging last night and checking charging started and no connection to car. No charging info, doors locked etc but it new its location, unless that was my phones location.

The MG has no phone App, but i am OK with that as the car starts charging and is accurate enough at when will be charged, and i do not need to go to 99% as often as i needed to with the MINI.

Leaving on 7 or 11 AC chargers.

As a car how are you finding the MG5 , ? I liked the boot size and you could get a mobility scooter in there without taking motor bit off which I have to in Enyaq ,

And I must admit I've just been on auto trader looking at low priced second hand ones , and my god has the price dropped, Tempted aint the word for a second car

@Redestate it is KISS which i like, controls nice and straight forward.

HVAC damn good.

Seat fully down and as far back as is the steering wheel is perfect as are the pedals without me adjusting them.

Easy in and out. I am happy enough. All in £11,000 with Insurance, extended warranty, & new tyres.

When the 6 months VED is up i will change to Disabled Class and use VED Exemption on it unless i get some ICE vehicle with high VED & use on that. Fine for taking into LEZ / ULEZ,s.

Hi George,

Does your Mini's range start dropping when temperature starts to go below 15c ?

We find mileage prediction range very good.

Do you charge to 80, 85, 90, 95 or 100 % summer or winter or same ?

  • Author

I charged to 100 % or 98/99 % nearly always. Always before heading off on trips.

DC or AC. It only shows between 108-118 even in warm weather.

It would do more but was most efficient between 15-20 *oC.

I could still get 100 miles with some range left at as low as -10*oC.

The only time i would not charge to full is if the charger was very expensive and there was enough to get me to my destination and then cheap charging.

Usually on my way homewards and needing just about 70 miles, and also if a charger had a max 40 minutes stay and i had enough charge at the charger charging slow but at a stupid tariff.

Local BMW dealer charged our Cooper E to almost full 10p % charge when we picked it up but guide seems to say 80 % charge "normally" but I have noticed that 80 % had dropped from being 145 miles to closer to 135 miles as the temp is dropping down to 10c at night.

Neighbour opposite has a BMW X1 3 something, supposedly equivalent to a 3 litre ICE, but he seems to be under impression that regikarly charging to 90% is ok.

Thinking of setting car to 90 % if it drops much further. Also was going to look in to if car could / should to second phase of charging at noon as my lad sets of at 1pm so battery and cabin pep just before leaving might help.

He is only doing about 80 miles from Worcester to Gloucester recovery day but the spare range is dwindling as weather gets colder and if he gas to do a diversion if M5 up the creek. He is not very switched on with hypermiling.

There is a software up date waiting to be run I see which changes tge setup so it can start in Green Eco mode whereas before it started in Core mode and you had to set it from Core to Green after starting off. Still quite nippy in Green I expect not like my Zoe which is like an petrol car with two plug leads pulled off when in Eco. Scenic is good in Eco as can do 72 moh indicated so a good licence saver. Mini will do 100 indicated even in Green mode I gather abd get there respectably quickly.

Still loving the Mini as it is so fun one can forgive it the limited range.

I could have it charging pre 7 am and at 100% and showing 104 miles range, say -2*oC, that was on the phone app.

Get in the car and not pre conditioned and on start up it might be showing 106 miles, then i set off and 60 mph roads and a few 20 and 30 mph villages it has 80 miles range left after 30 miles.

(Pre heating / deicing the car for 5 minutes before unplugging it made no difference to range showing on app but the dash might show more miles range. The demisting last winter was not working properly as i only found out when they said it needed the warranty work.

But i never have Heating set higher than 18*c other than maybe for a few minutes clearing the glass / windscreen. Heated seat on maybe for 5 minutes and not needed on again.

Dipped headlights always on in winter.
