@lol-lol first 70 miles today 3 6 miles to kWh. Sport occasionally but mostly in Green + with roof tilted and window occasionally open, no heating or cooling but car fan blowing in air cool enough. Cruise control on. Then next 95 miles 3.8 miles a kWh. More than half motorway. Still using Green + and CC and it moved quick still if the accelerator needs pushed. Nothing like the efficiency of your MINI E though. PS. I pushed EC0 on the Chinese MINI and there was no limited to 60 mph. Just limited power on the power needle. Give it a try please. PPS, there will be no EV grant on Chinese built MINI,s surely Shirley. I have been looking at what I want to buy. I am thinking maybe just seeing next May if Motability still have the fantastic advanced payment on the Ford Explorers. Big battery, most power RWD with a towbar fitted. Order then if available or wait and see in the next Quarter. No point buying something if I need to stop driving in the next 3 years.

Cheers.

Someone i know has ordered an Explorer which was available on the Volkswagen car supply list, presumably as it made in a VW factory.

Has to be a factory order as they wanted the heat pump on the car which is not standard.

They are coming from a Mercedes EQC, the 400 hp version but then it weighs 2.6 tonnes so not as great a power to weight as it initially sounds. As you say nice long range, looks OK too. Think they are getting the tow bar fitting to car bikes and stuff.

Tw,at in BMW just parked in bay for 1 hour or more because there before me. Not charging. Place mobbed but there is car parking places still. EDIT, I am charged and the BMW still blocking the bay.

PPS. The lady and family returned to the BMW, she could not get it to start, and CPS said they could not communicate with it so she left the car. The other chargers at the Post Office car park were also out of order.

This Can not communicate with charger for remote start is the usual nonsense from them.

The mobile receptions are rubbish. One card might not activate the charger and another will, and they start the charger for me often enough, but obviously the SIM needs a reception, one minute there might be the next there is not.

Then a white Audi arrived and he could not start the CCS and was giving up and i showed him how to start that. Not locking all doors and windows as CPS tell you when you phone. Just allowing the charger time between tapng card, authorisation, chose which charger, it failing and trying again.

Robert the Bruce and the Spider. Try try and try again before admitting defeat.

& take Charge Place Scotland call handlers advice with a pinch of salt.

@Ootohere Where is that please? We're heading north in a few weeks and National Trust properties will feature heavily.

Culzean Castle South Ayrshire, near Turnberry, Maidens, Maybole and Ayr. If you are near this area I would visit KC3,s wee abode Dumfries House. 365 days a year free entry to grounds. About 25 miles away from Culzean.

70 pence a kWh because the AC posts are off and need charged up to 99% and ready to go. Stirling rapid chargers show as still off at the park and ride so likely paying 78 pence at Osprey to get enough charge to get home.

That is how things are these days in Scotland with council owned public charging , so unless using Tesla superchargers or subscription maybe with Ionity or whoever.

98% showing 122 miles is ok if I got that and could get to Perth to charge, but likely it is 110 miles max and maybe 6-8 miles to spare I will get.

I bought a 2021 MG5 Exclusive (Estate) in White that has done 33,525 miles.

Not a Long Range just a 52.5 kWh / 48.8 kWh usable.

Max charging 80 kW CCS but only a maximum 6.6 kW AC (Not 11 kW)

Tyres are fine for now but once i see what range i get All Season will be going on,

& a tow bar for bike rack or trailer.

Your lease seems to have gone by quickly! I just signed up for an ID.3 Match 79kWh model on lease to replace the ID.4. Happy new car to you!

I have the Mini for another year or longer. RAC insurance was crazy. NCB used on other cars. They wanted £1,000 with Ageas. Confused.com allow for driving other cars and no claims like the Mobility car. £450 with Ageas. Breakdown, windscreen legal cover etc. New brake pads getting fitted and fluid being done, filter and the MOT as that was due in October. DSC_4665.JPG

Looks smart for its age.

Interested to see see how you get on with the MG. I've heard they're utilitarian, but in a good way.

Not phased by the MG reliability placing in recent surveys ?

Hopefully you have a good one and MG do right by you if it needs anything !

Nice one.

How do you feel compared to your previous 2 BEV's? More range? Less go-kart-y compared to previous one?

Does it have app remote control stuff? I know post-FL have it.

@wyx087

I have not driven it as it was waiting on brake and suspension parts but i had one for a few days when new and got 180 miles without trying & it was cold at the time.

I tried a local Taxi firms Long Range and it was not as efficient and they had poor efficiency with it and so did i.

No remote pre heat or App, but i will be using the MINI in winter anyway locally.

No rush to fit the All season tyres as there are pretty new Maxxis fitted and big rain coming so i have a distance to do this weekend and i will see what it is like for traction and efficiency on them.

I always go straight to All Seasons with cars but this time i will be sure of what i want to fit.

Self Seal i think, and maybe a spare wheel & tools since i will be going further North more with this car.

Hopefully the V5 arrives in the post today but that is usually after 3 pm.

I was registered keeper online since last week & insured since Wednesday but the Insurance is with the car on my reg plate so i could not take the car out.

Hopefully it will be fine, if you read some of the comments on this forum you would think Skoda's were bad when they clearly are one of the better offerings from the VAG empire.

Skoda can be totally atrocious now.

Or Skoda UK can be, their Customer Services Contractor. The Approved Repairers / Dealerships that can not see cars with Warranty Issues or Recalls even on almost new cars.

Up-selling and yet unable to do work that owners need doing PDQ.

Now i am reading a thread on a DSG failure and a All in Skoda Warranty and the member being told only a courtesy car for 2 days.

Skoda UK fault, well actually VW UK and senior management UK. Push sales / first registrations while poor PDI,s and after sales services.

It is often more about which model, or even engine in a particular model, I seem to find.

Luck also. I had a twin charge Fabia but mine was fine when others had nightmares.

Well my experience with them has been pretty good, although the last brand new car I had was back in 2013, so things may have got bad since then, and we did also have the Covid period which has certainly affected the servicing side as some people would still it appears prefer to stick with Skoda for servicing/repairs.

I have started to use indies for my cars now as every time I try the Skoda centres they are quoting something like 3 to 4 weeks away for bookings and they are still blaming the Covid backlog.

Thing did go bad after Aliastair Stewart moved on from being the Brand Director and then various Front men / woman took senior positions in VW Group & Skoda.

He never pretended there were no issues and passed on Customers to useless Communications Managers & Warranty Managers. You could get complaints to him.

2015 they were caught out as cheats and liars, and from then on they really did treat customers as cash cows.
