Hey guys. 
put the car through the mot the other day. It failed.

 

Came up with power steering malfunction [2.1.5(a)]
Any one got any ideas of thoughts ? 
 

I’ve also had problems with the alternator not charging untill the engine has had a few revs on it. 
could they be connected at all ?

Yes!

 

If the ECU senses low voltage then it shuts off the PAS.

 

Fix that alternator.

Not charging til revved generally means the blue wire to the little two way connector on the alt is broken somewhere.
