Smartphone holder

Featured Replies

Hi all, new to the Citigo forum and asking a question that may have been answered before…

Bought my youngest daughter a 2012 Citigo as her first car and looking to find a smartphone holder that will fit into the mounting at the top of the dashboard that holds the detachable infotainment screen.

Any advice greatly appreciated. Is there an online Skoda accessories website anyoe can recommend that might have some options?

There is no holder that is a direct fit into the slot on the dash, other than the original Up!/Citigo/Mii bracker designed for the entirely hopeless Garmin PID.  Post-facelift models (>2018??) have a different system designed so that instead of the Garmin PID, you get a bracket that lets you use a smartphone.

There has been lots of discussion about mounting phones on the Up! Owners Forum, and pictures of the various possibilities. It can get quite involved, depending on the functionality you need to get (like seeing water temp, fuel MPG, range, integrating phone over Bluetooth to the radio etc).

You are probably better off capping off the connector on the dash top (there is a part for this) and just using a phone (or a SatNav) on a windscreen mount, and plugging in to the cigarette lighter.

i used the trapezoid cover and got a phone mount and drilled a hole in the middle and joined the two .

but the clips that keep the cover down were not strong enough ,

so i removed the screws that hold down the connector plastic below extended two threaded rods into the mountings below .

and drilled another two holes in the trapezoid cover and bolted it down . its strong and looks good .

I've got one of these in my 2012 citigo

Magnets onto the back of my iphone and is pretty secure.
My iphone already has the magnet built-in, but they also send a thin magnetic sticker you can put on a phone case for any other type of phones like androids.

I got it on this website

Hope that helps mate

I've used a Brodit Proclip to mount to the car (Part No. 654737), but have used a different phone mount as I wanted it to charge wirelessly. The Brodit website says not suitable for the 'Active' model, but mine is just that model and it fits fine. As you'll see from the photo, I've used a cigarette lighter to 2 x USB device into which I have plugged the wireless charging phone mount and a Bluetooth to 3.5mm jack phone adapter.

All I have to do is leave the radio switched to 'AUX' input and then I can simply offer the phone (in my case a Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus 5G model) and once the ignition is on, the holder clamps the phone in place as a small motor moves the sides inwards and I have hands-free calling and Bluetooth audio. The microphone is on the top of the Bluetooth adapter and works well enough for a short conversation. A button on the side of the unit releases the phone.

Works for me!
