Afternoon all!

My appologise if this has been covered before, my searches failed..

So! Our poor little 1.9Tdi Fabia Elagance has had a hard life & at 220000 miles its getting tired. Gearbox seems to be the main issue, noisey, clonks & so on. Its a GGU code box (5spd manual) but cant seem to find one anywhere. Do any 5spd VAG boxes fit (not to worried about gear ratios being a bit different) or does it need to be like for like swap?

any idea why the GGU boxes seem to be more expensive than some other codes? We’re there not many made?

Most of them are still in service so it's more down to scarcity I reckon.

 

£210 including shipping seems reasonable, I'm assuming delivery to your house is possible with a wagon, you should be able to take it off the pallet kerbside and chuck it in a wheelbarrow.

EMD and EWT codes were used before GGU on same engine, to widen search scope a little, maybe.
