LED Replacement Warning

Featured Replies

Just been changing some of the lights on my car to LED, and am getting errors coming up on my dash for each one, saying to check them. Not had it affect the drive or anything, but wondered if there was a way to get rid of the warnings?

Put proper bulbs back, or fit ballasts to the LEDs, thus undoing any "advantage" they offered.

Thanks, as far as the advantages go, there are 2 main ones for me:

LED bulbs tend to last far longer, and are cheaper in the long run. Also, apart from the aesthetic difference (which I think helps to make a slightly older car like my 2011 Octavia look more modern for a low cost) they do tend to light up the road far better, in my opinion.

Maybe, if the reflector is designed for the different beam pattern, but again, since you're not using ballasts you have more lumens down the road (probably) than you should...

And very likely a lot of uncontrolled light scatter directed into the eyes of drivers coming towards you.
