infotainment bugs

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm feeling quite frustrated as my infotainment system keeps turning on and off intermittently. I've scheduled an appointment with my car dealer, but they're indicating that they need to conduct a "diagnostic." This apparently entails a cost for updating the system. I'm under the impression that this issue might be related to Skoda, and thus, the update should be covered by them.

Have any of you encountered a similar problem? Your insights would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to read through the thread titled "Infotainment System Restarting endlessly"  - page 26 summarises what you can do yourself. In short, if you are not on software 1941 it may fix your problem. Bonne chance.

To do it yourself you will need a 16Gb USB C memory stick or a USB C adapter to allow you to use a standard USB memory stick, ask for the link to download the firmware, the follow the guide on page 26 carefully or get someone to do it for you if you don't feel confident enough to do it yourself.

Alternatively if you're car is still under warranty get it booked it to your dealer and get them to do it.

First off all I want to thank Mr. @TheWandererand other people on this forum for helping us and providing instructions + data. Infotainment rebooting has been pain in a$$ for me and my Octavia RS 2023 245 (2 months old). Yesterday I was on 1898 software, flashed it successfully to 1941. After 2 Ota updates, I can confirm everything is fine for now. Anyone else noticed improvements in rear camera quality?

Glad that it has solved your problems, hopefully that's should be the end of hope problems.

There are several more downloads to come I've had 4 so far, all have been minor and no ill effects.

Thank you @TheWanderer and @inspectorman for your answer.
I think I am still under warranty so I will check with the dealer.
But guys, even i I am not under warranty do you think it is normal that we should pay for such an update? which is clearly a problem of conception?

If you're out of warranty then you're probably going to have to pay for the upgrade, but it'll be done by the book and if it goes wrong then they'll have to put it right at their own expense.

If you do a firmware/software update yourself and it goes wrong then you have to foot the repair bill yourself.
