Workshop manual source ?

Featured Replies

2019 SEL wanting a ‘workshop’ /‘Haynes’ manual,  … suggestions gleefully accepted

You can get a copy of the official workshop manual from www.easymanuals.co.uk - which will be just a copy of whatever they grabbed from erWin at an earlier point in time, or reg with erWin Skoda and get the latest version.

i tried everywhere to get a haynes manual...in book form .....but they dont make them so i bought thier digital autofix for my citigo....what a waste of time this was.....very limited information....not worth £27 ...so phoned up explaining its not really as good as a proper book/manual and got a prompt refund thankfully.

That is a nuisance, I had assumed that their digital version was a good product - but now that you have discovered otherwise, I'll not bother considering that option for a workshop manual in the future.

I know that at least over the past 10 or so years, newly brought to print Haynes workshop manuals, have dropped off dramatically in terms of including useful content.

It is a bit disappointing that Haynes don't make a paper/book version....I wanted to remove rear bumper as little bit of rust round by filler cap starting (common fault) I have a 13 plate.....and absolutely nothing about in Haynes auto fix.....nor seat removal,,door card removal etc....as want to change front speakers....and give inside a full wet vac when weather is better.....get most of tips and advice thru YouTube..and this site....which I've just joined...Great little Skoda community here 👍👌🤗

Frustrating there isn't a decent manual available but sadly I think fewer and fewer people are getting their hands dirty these days

The old Haynes manuals were better than nothing, the new online versions seem a lot worse but then our cars are a lot more Techy or complicated. Ordered an easymanual online earlier, not cheap but hopefully is more comprehensive. Just need to confirm what engine I have now is I have two different codes on different paperwork, CHY or CHYB

"easymanuals" have worked for me in the past especially when you order well into the production life - or beyond it - so that any errors/updates have been incorp'd into what is just really a copy of what VW Group offers to the trade who are out with the VW Group service umbrella.

As you get "everything" that means all engine/gearbox options and maybe even "early" and "late" car coverage, I've always just saved everything, then also created a folder for my exact age and model of car - to save any future faffing around for correct info.

Edit:- I'd think that "CHY" is the family or section of that engine family that your engine comes from, and CHYB is the actual model/version of your engine that is in your car - have you checked the engine for labels, probably printed paper labels that define the exact version, serial number, engine build plant and date of build. I've always made a point of asking my local VW Group marque's parts department for a print out of CAR DATA for each of our family cars, and that is very helpful later down the line.

Thanks for clarifying the engine code situation. The manual I've ordered is supposed to be Reg. No./VIN No, specific. So presumably will be more 3dr. 2013 Citigo Elegance specific, might help with clarity, but if you ever change Citigo may be more inaccurate.
