MK3 quirks/noises

Featured Replies

Hi everyone! Have a bit of a funny one and wanted to share it here to see if anyone had an idea.

Car: Fabia 2021 MK3 1.0 MPI/ 5 speed gearbox

So with my mk3 fabia, I notice a strange amount of jerkyness when accelerating from low speeds after a service (for example crawling in 2nd and then begging to accelerate)

I noticed some strange creaking in my clutch pedal and sometimes a difficulty in getting in to 1st gear. And if I try to move off with little or no accelerator I get a "du du dum" almost coming from the engine. To alleviate this I'm having to accelerate to around 1.5-2k revs.  At first I always just thought that this was just how the car was, but did decide to get it checked and took it to a Skoda dealer, who said it was a "characteristic" of the gearbox and do I just ignored it.

Fast forward to now, and my other half has recently picked up a 2018 Fabia with the mpi engine/ 5 speed gearbox on a similar mileage and it runs really well with none of these issues, and runs significantly quieter. So now I am at a loss on what to do or what the issue could be, since it seems clear this is not normal.
