Octavia vrs tsi - Ridiculously squeaky clutch pedal

Featured Replies

This one is driving me mad.

i have a squeaky clutch pedal. I went to look underneath the dash and sprayed first gt85 then lithium white spray grease on the spring, and any moving parts I could see. I went right under the dash.

the squeak is now louder! I think its coming from the top end of the clutch pedal.

anyone know how to fix this?

Squeaking only when pedal pressed?

Direct the spray grease to the plastic actuator between the control loading spring and the pedal, it is not the pivot or the  pushrod making the noise but the actuator moving across the cam.

When pressing down and then also releasing up.

Thanks. That’s not the pedal return spring you mean is it?

control loading spring

Through the cam action it will either push the pedal towards the floor or raise it to the upper position so it is not a pedal return (only) spring but it is the only spring acting on the pedal.
