2010 Skoda Octavia vRS - gearbox reliability?

Featured Replies

Been looking for a decent Skoda estate (auto) and saw one that is going for about 5k with 135000 miles.

My biggest question is how is the gearbox reliability on these things? I have had an early 2010s Golf a few years back and the dry clutch DSG on it was a little problematic.

I am wondering if this is just a ticking time bomb. I know service history is a huge factor so I am trying to find out from the seller.

My wife cannot drive manual so my options are a bit limited unfortunately. (Yes I know it would be cheaper to pay for my wife to learn manual 😂)

So what do you guys think about these?

Welcome,

EDIT.

Sorry missed the Title.   So an Octavia vRS will be a DQ250 , services every 40,000 miles should show for the DSG oil changes.
