Jabba'd! weeeeeeeeee!

Featured Replies

Well - I've found a pc for a post-Jabba report.

Well - it took about 3 hours of waiting (forced to read VW mags) but I finally got my car back putting out it's best power which was xxxBHP (oh, did I forget the numbers?)

The only clue I'll give is that it's very similar to Matt's Jabba session - Mike put my dyno and his on the same plot and there was little difference - Anyone coming to Derby tomorrow can see them if you wish - Have to tippex out the HP though.

My maximum torque kicks in at about 2250 RPM from what I could see from the dyno, and pretty much stays in the 140HP+ range to 4500RPM. :D Big grin factor.

Upon leaving Jabba the difference was immense but I was a little sad I couldn't really push it as the weather was atrocious and the driving conditions were appalling. But I gave it full throttle in third and fourth on a couple of crawler lane overtaking places and it pulls like a beauty, even uphill. I think third gear is still my favourite gear of all though, even if it does pull fourth & fifth gears from low revs now.

Graeme - see you in the morning. jabba haven't double booked you - I checked. All other Derby attenders, same applies! tomorra, y'all!

Jason surely that should be non-STD TDI surely

will be interesting to compare: standard fabia vrs vs chipped vrs and jasons chipped 5 speeder.. ;)

doubt it will make a difference if jon turns up tomorrow in his 3xx octy lol (except we can ovetake him when he stops for optimax) :D

Dream on sonny!*

*Unless the route is over 110 miles chris_grin.gif

Jason, get to a scanner soonest! :D

Sounds good Jason, see you tomorrow!

Will be good to see a few of you tomorrow at the Derby meet and certainly looking forward to seeing the 300+ monster of Jons!

What is there to see?... it looks the same as any other lowered RS thats done 1xx thousand miles, but it has a nice paintjob on the bonnet :D

Jason,

As a matter of interest, are you tending to kick out a lot more smoke post- jabba?.....

:scrambles :drive1:

BFG - I wasn't intending to, but I kind of resigned myself to the fact I will be chucking out a bit more smoke when using the extra BHP over standard.

Graeme will vouch the car is smoking more, but it's not so much of a soot-y smoke as a white exhaust smoke. I've certainly never seen anything in the rear view mirror in terms of smoke under very quick acceleration.

As Mike @ Jabba said - it's running very clean given the extra power probably because my car has covered a decent mileage. Either way I'm chuffed with the lack of smoke - After the de-cat, could be a different story. :D

Certainly isn't smoking as much as I thought it might. Was very impressed as it happens and it is now pretty quick! :D

Here's hoping your remapping today goes well! Methinks your car is quite likely to smoke a bit more than mine afterwards. hehe.
